We appreciate that you only want to purchase gemstones of the highest quality. So when you buy from E.S. Designs you receive a grading report with every diamond that we sell*. These reports are independently produced by a trusted, but independent and unaffiliated international laboratory that specialises in gemological reporting.

We do everything possible to ensure you receive gemstones and diamonds of the highest quality. However, because of legal restrictions, E.S Designs is not in a position to guarantee or provide warranty for these independent reports. They are subjective in nature, and as such can only provide a guide as to colour and clarity.

The report is essentially the opinion of the laboratory which produced it. Reports from can vary from lab to lab based on the opinions of testers at each facility. Each centre has different criteria on which they base their report and gradings. One lab might put more emphasis on proportion for example, while another is concerned by the aesthetics.

E.S. Designs choose to focus on grading that is concerned with visual performance of a diamond. In our opinion, this is the more accurate evaluation of the quality of the cut of a stone. Please note, this may produce a report that is different from one that focuses on the proportion of the diamond.
